We take a look and answer the most common Testosterone Enanthate questions, helping you plan your steroid cycle and reduce steroid related side effects.
Q: Is it necessary to use an Aromatase Inhibitor at all times whenever running Testosterone Enanthate?
A: Not always, but the general population would do well to use one, or at the very least have an AI on hand. This is because although a user may not be sensitive at all to gynocomasta, rising estrogen levels can and do lead to other health issues (risk of prostate cancer, water retention, rising blood pressure). It should not be necessary to use an AI if Testosterone Enanthate is run at a TRT dose in conjunction with other compounds that do not aromatize.
An example of an AI used on a cycle of Test Enan would be: Aromasin 10-20mg/ED, Arimidex 0.5mg/EOD or Letrozole 0.5mg/E2D.
Side effects of AI’s include: impaired lipid profile, aching joints, loss of sex drive and mood changes.
Q: Do I always have to run Testosterone with everything else?
A: There exist very few compounds that can be run on their own without adverse effects on the body resulting from HPTA inhibition whereby Testosterone is not present to maintain proper healthy function of various systems in the body. Therefore, one should always run at least a TRT dose of Testosterone with any compounds one decides to use in a cycle.
A TRT dose of Testosterone Enanthate would be around 100-150mg/wk. Steroid cycles contain 200-300mg/wk plus.
Q: I keep hearing that Testosterone Enanthate is one of those compounds where most or nearly all gains are lost afterwards. Is this true?
A: This is not true. The retention of gains post-cycle depends on the upkeep of the user’s proper nutrition, training, and a proper PCT protocol in order to restore endogenous hormone levels back to normal as quickly as possible so as to support the newly grown muscle. Gain retention is not dependent so much on the type of compound run, and Testosterone Enanthate is no different in this regard.
Conducting a proper solid PCT protocol is paramount. Tamoxifen at 20mg every day should be a good starting point.
A: Water gain can be kept to a minimum with the use of an AI, and will allow for the person’s gains to be almost purely muscle (if the user’s nutrition is properly adjusted as such). Without the use of an AI, water retention can be quite a lot but may vary between individuals. Some have gained 5 lbs. of water and others as much as 10lbs. or more.
Q: How long does it take for Testosterone Enanthate to ‘kick-in’?
A: This varies between individuals, but the general time frame is in the range of 4-6 weeks. Although Testosterone as well as all anabolic steroids begin to work as soon as they are administered, the definition of the ‘kick-in’ period is the period where one begins to notice strength gains in the gym, and weight plus size begins to increase at a more noticeable rate.
